According to the new study that is conducted by epidemiologist in University of Buffalo, pregnant women who are exposed in the environment of air pollution does not raise the possibility of having a preeclampsia, a condition that rises with pregnant women due to hypertension.
This study survey almost 3, 675 pregnant women in Seattle Washington to analyze the effects of pregnant women’s surroundings and their health diet during pregnancies. According to Carole Rudra, PHD, an assistant and instructor in the University of Buffalo said that the result of this study is shown in the yearly meeting of Society for Pediatric and Perinatal Epidemiology.
Rudra researches for the factors that may affect the behavioral stability of pregnant women towards their environment. Rudra also added that air pollutants may raise the possibility of having disease in cardiovascular that lead Rudra to research for some factors that air pollution may also be a of having preeclampsia.
Rudra together with other co-workers gather some data from pregnant women that are exposed in some air pollutant like air borne particles like mist, dust and so alike and with carbon monoxide (CO). According to the data, those pregnant women that are exposed in this kind of air pollutant do not show any signs that these air pollutants really affects the pregnancies of women.
They began their studies in finding answer if the pollutants in air can cause preeclampsia. However, the researcher found out that air pollution is not connected with the danger of having preeclampsia in pregnant women.
In addition to this, Rudra wants to continue this research in analyzing and examining the health of these pregnant women that may affect the risk of preeclampsia.
