A new study finds that children who are frequently eating bounty of vegetables in their meals together with their family is likely to be slimmer than other children eating without this eating habits with their family.
This study may not be extraordinary but some of the studies investigate the relation of the weight of the children and the pattern of their diet habits. Although it is good that children eats with their family, there is also some evidence that shows in this study that it also helps them to keep thin.
Regarding with this study, a Greek researchers surveyed 1, 138 children ranging nine to 13 years of age about their eating habits and their physical activities. The researchers use the result of the survey to know the lifestyle pattern and the general diet of that group.
Those children that fall in the dinner, cooked vegetable and meals group shows that they are eating vegetable a lot and always eating together with their family. Children that are in this group also shows that they have a lower body mass index (BMI) and they also have small waistline and lower body fats rather than those who are not in this group.
None of the four eating habit groups really show the connection of it with the weight of the children and the level of their body fats. This four eating habit groups include fast food eating habit, breakfast, high fiber and vegetable and fruits with exercise eating habits.
According to the research that led by Dr. Mary Yannakoulia of University Harokopio in Athens, there are still no proof why those four eating habit groups did not connect with the children’s weight , unlike the first group that really shows that it affect the weight of the children.
