Abortion Spontaneous

Abortion Spontaneous or miscarriage is one of the terrible but common experiences among women. According to research 25-50% of pregnancy is spontaneously abort. Some researchers say that this kind of abortion usually happens when the woman doesn’t know that she is pregnant. Abortion Spontaneous is the spontaneous end of pregnancy at a stage where the fetus is not yet capable of surviving. It is the passage of the fetus before the gestational age of 20th week of pregnancy. This is a noninduced embryonic death that is a common complication of pregnancy in the first trimester.

There are lots of reasons why abortion spontaneous occurs in a pregnant woman. This can be due to an accident or natural cause. Natural cause of abortion includes the genetic, uterine or hormonal abnormalities, reproductive tract infections, and tissue rejection. If the patient has a previous history of abortion she is on greater risk of spontaneous abortion. It is said that the risk in spontaneous abortion may decrease just after the 10th week of pregnancy.

Abortion Spontaneous can be divided into six types:

- Threatened abortion already has vaginal bleeding and cramping but it may subside if given enough attention or this can proceed to incomplete abortion.
- Imminent or inevitable abortion is an abortion that can be prevented because there is already cervical dilation.
- Incomplete abortion means that there are parts of the fetus that are expelled but not completely.
- Complete Abortion is the complete expulsion of the fetus in the passageway.
-Missed abortion is the kind of abortion where in there is a fetal death but there are expulsion of even a single part of the fetus.
-Habitual abortion is when there is three or more history of miscarriages.

Abdominal Delivery or Caesarian Section

Abdominal delivery or caesarian section is another way of delivering the baby by a surgical incision in the abdominal wall and the uterus. The fetus is delivered in the intact uterus by means of surgical operation. This is called Caesarean section because it is believe that the Roman emperor Julius Caesar was born this way. This method is somehow advisable in cases where in there are complications. This is also common if the life of the mother or the life of the baby is somehow at risk. This is performed mostly in the medieval Europe where in there are cases of mothers who died in labor. Caesarean section is one of the ways that they have to avoid these dying mothers’ incidents. But there is a controversy in the Christian Church because they said that cutting the abdomen of the mother before she was dead is forbidden.

In our times today the use of abdominal delivery is very much helpful in obstetrics complications. There have been lots of lives that are saved because of this surgical procedure. Some of the complications of labors that may need abdominal delivery are prolonged labor, fetal distress, uterine rupture, cord prolapse, placental problems (placenta praevia, placental abruption or placenta accreta), abnormal presentation (breech and  transverse position), and failed labor induction. Other problem or medical condition of the mother may also require abdominal delivery. This includes preexisting condition like pre-eclampsia, hypertension, multiple births, and STD disease of the mother.

There are also different kinds of incision that is made in the abdomen of the mother. This can be longitudinal or latitudinal. The type of anesthesia that is used can also vary this can be general or regional anesthesia (spinal, epidural, or combined of both spinal and epidural anesthesia).

Abdominal delivery has indeed created a big part in the medical industry as this lessens the percentage of mortality rate.
